I would just like to say that my wife and I took a 1 hr. limo tour of Nashville which we visit frequently, (I recommend night visits!!) which was accompanied by a free 20 minute carriage tour that was just absolutely magnificent! We have rode other carriages and took other tours and none compare to Sugar Creek Carriages/Southern Lights Limo. They really make you feel comfortable and safe as well as having great knowledge of the sights of Nashville, TN. I recommend them to anyone wanting to have a romantic time alone or with a group and yes they are definitely a 5 star tour company!!!!!

I heard good things about Sugar Creek Carriages so I made an appointment. I called and spoke with Johnny Smith and explained I had a special request to ask of them. A family in my church has a 9 year old girl who is battling brain cancer. I wanted to give the family a very special night on the town and a ride in a horse drawn carriage was part of the plans.
Johnny and Brenda went to the extreme to help deliver this family a wonderful evening. They had to make special accommodations for the family and everything turned out better than we had planned. The day after the event, I received a call from the family and was told (with tears) it was the best family outing they have ever had.
I can’t say enough about their caring professionalism. Sugar Creek Carriages is a wonderful asset to the Nashville community and I recommend them highly.
Thank you so much!

My family took the Nashville tour with Sugar Creek Carriages and we were very impressed with the tour. The carriage was very clean and the tour guide was very knowledgeable and professional. The horse looked very well taken care of and my kids loved the dog on the horses back. We saw a few other tour carriages from other companies and they were not even close to the quality of Sugar Creek. A+++ all the way.

From Customers of Vacations Made Easy:
Toured with Sugar Creek carriage, was impressed with the driver’s knowledge of Nashville. Carriage was neat and clean inside and out and the horse looked to be well cared for, shiny coat and solid weight with no ribs showing, dammdest thing was the driver had a big beautiful dog that jumped up on the horse’s back and the horse seemed to love it. It was a first class tour, I would recommend to anyone going to Nashville on vacation.

From downtown Franklin:

We loved having Sugarcreek Carriages at Dickens of a Christmas in Historic Downtown Franklin. The carriages fit the Victorian theme perfectly and Kayg the dog was a huge hit with everyone who met him. We especially appreciate the careful driving through the crowded streets. Thanks for the great service to our event.”

From Hickman County Chamber of Commerce:

Johnny,
Thank you for coming to Centerville on Halloween of 2008. Our street festival was overflowing with people in outrageous costumes and masks, yet your horses moved easily through the crowd. Kayg, your wonderfully trained Blue Heeler dog, rode your horse and carriage to the delight of the crowd as he sounded the approach of your carriage to the pedestrians in the street. Children and adults alike, loved your really big horse, Chip.
We look forward to having you back for other festivals and events.
Thanks again,

From Make-a-Wish Foundation:

Johnny,
It was a pleasure talking with you today.
We are deeply appreciative of the donation of your time and the beautiful carriage for Sunday’s upcoming surprise wish celebration. Your extra efforts in bringing the horses and carriage from McEwen to Murfreesboro will create a very special moment for our wish kid as well the young students from North Boulevard Church of Christ who have worked so hard to make her wish possible..
Your carriage will be a highlight and extra special treat that would not have been possible without your generosity and thoughtfulness. The Sugar Creek Carriage royal treatment will indeed make her feel like a real princess, creating special memories she will always cherish.
We look forward to working with you on this and future wishes.
All the best,
Pat

From a Cruises and Tour Manager:

I wish to express our complete satisfaction with the carriage rides promoted by Sugar Creek Ranch, Johnny Smith proprietor, in Nashville, Tennessee.
We have sent many groups and individuals to enjoy Mr. Smith’s carriage rides. His service has always been exemplary. We have received nothing less than perfect feedback from our tour guides, friends and family who have taken these tours. People are impressed with the health and beauty of Mr. Smith’s animals and how gentle he treats them. By many folks, Mr. Smith is often referred to as ‘The Horse Whisperer’, a perfect analogy derived from an older movie that effectively relates how man and beast interact so peacefully with one another.
I have personally visited Mr. Smith’s operation and found it to be absolutely the best carriage ride company in Nashville. His employees are friendly, courteous, and most knowledgeable of the history and current events of the city. His carriages and animals are extremely clean and well cared for. Mr. Smith, without a doubt, operates the most professional carriage rides in the area and we are always proud to recommend our clients to him.
Sincerely,
Carol

From Lambuth Area Neighborhood Association:

This is to highly recommend Sugar Creek Carriages & Ranch for your next event. I am the Executive Director of Lambuth Area Neighborhood Association (LANA) in Jackson Tennessee. This year we started a new Fall Festival and Johnny & Brenda Smith are one of the main reasons that we were successful.
Professional!!!! That’s the first thing I think about when I think of this organization. Johnny & Brenda arrived early and stayed late. They gave us tips on how to make our event more successful and within minutes I could tell that both knew how to handle their animals – with a firm and positive attitude. I felt that the children & parents riding were completely safe.
Again, I would highly recommend Sugar Creek Carriages & Ranch. They are very professional and they will be an asset to your event.
Sincerely,
Teresa

From Students of Driving School

Dear Miss Brenda and Mr. Johnny,
I just wanted to email you both and say how grateful Wayne and I are for all the excellent driving lessons you gave us. Thank you Johnny, especially, for all the attention and details about safety! We feel quite comfortable now about harnessing, hitching, and driving our Belgian, Bill. I don’t think we could have ever become at ease or comfortable trying to learn out of a book or from a DVD. There is nothing like ‘hands on’ learning! Your horses were so patient with us! Now we can drive and be relaxed enough to really enjoy ourselves instead of being nervous or afraid. Thank you Miss Brenda for inviting us into your home and providing the lunches for both days, they sure hit the spot after hours out in the cold. Tell James Thank you also, for being such a great help to us! He is a very nice young man. I have attached a couple of pictures of us driving Bill the other day. It wouldn’t have been as much fun without the knowledge you shared with us!
Thank you!

Dear Mr. and Mrs. Smith,

We greatly appreciate your generosity in donating four (4) 20 minute carriage rides to the Alzheimer’s Association.
